OEM beverage cooler customization checklist for distributors

An OEM program works best when visible branding and technical configuration are managed as one approval system. A logo can be changed quickly; a model, label, manual and carton that disagree can create delays, rework and compliance risk.

Quick answer

What should you prepare?

An OEM beverage cooler brief needs an approved base model, destination configuration, artwork and a matching label/manual/carton file set. Confirm which options apply to the selected model before approving a sample. MOQ, tooling and lead time are quoted for the actual program.

1. Choose and freeze the technical base

Start with the application, cabinet format, capacity position, temperature, cooling method and market requirement. Confirm the base model before artwork is finalized. If the project requires a new platform, separate development, tooling, pilot validation and volume release from a standard OEM adaptation.

2. Build a visible-brand brief

Define cabinet color, logo files, graphic coverage, illuminated header, door and shelf presentation and any approved finish samples. Provide vector artwork when possible and specify color references. Keep marketing graphics separate from mandatory rating and safety information.

3. Confirm the market configuration

List destination country, voltage, frequency, plug, refrigerant and required compliance documents. Confirm each item against the selected model. Do not use a certificate from another model family as a general claim for the whole OEM range.

4. Align every document

The product rating label, user manual, product sheet, carton marks and sales specification should use the same model name, electrical values and approved company information. Assign a revision number or approval date so later orders can reference the correct file set.

5. Control sample and repeat production

Agree whether approval will be based on drawings, artwork files, a physical sample or a combination. Record approved deviations and define which changes require re-approval. MOQ, sample timing, tooling, production schedule and payment are commercial terms and should be stated in the quotation rather than assumed from a general web page.

OEM brief checklist

Use one brief to keep the technical platform, visible brand and commercial approval route aligned.

  • Destination market and buyer channel
  • Base model or new-platform requirement
  • Logo, colors, graphics and header design
  • Door, shelf, lighting and accessory options
  • Voltage, frequency, plug, refrigerant and documentation
  • Rating label, manual language and carton artwork
  • Estimated quantity, sample route and launch timing
  • Approval owner and repeat-order revision record

Southern African private-label upright cooler case

A retailer sourced upright coolers for resale under its own brand. The case describes approved brand presentation and export packing; its product image is a range reference rather than a customer-site photograph.
